The annual Westfield Tour of Notable Homes is eagerly anticipated by designers and architects. This year there were just four selected homes on display. While visitors are not allowed to take photos, I subsequently completed three complete photo sessions for their owners, architects and designers. Let’s have a look!
Use the arrows to navigate through each display.
Home #1: Minisink Way, Westfield
Home of designer Anastasia Harrison
Company: AHD & Co.
Funky, whimsical, and irreverent describes Harrison’s design aesthetic. She asked me to shoot it, “As if it were a Deborah Turbeville shoot.” (Deborah was an 80’s fashion photographer and icon for whom I worked for a year). The result is subtly stylistically unique from my other interior shoots, mainly with the use of bright lighted areas.
Home #2: Shadowlawn Drive, Westfield
Home of Ellie and Mike Mroz
Designer: Ellie Mroz Design Builder: Michael Robert Construction
Architect: Hildie Lazar
The power couple of Ellie and Mike Morz yielded another unique opportunity to push the boundaries photographically. With sun, sand, and beach a persistent theme in their home, light and bright was the key to successful final rendering. Subsequently, I also shot a series of exterior architectural photos of the residence, which I’ll feature in an upcoming blog post.
Home #3: Wychwood Rd., Westfield
Architect: Hildie Lazar
Company: Lazar Architecture, LLC.
This majestic colonial designed by my client Hildie Lazar Architecture was breathtaking. The interior design was a combination of efforts with separate design teams for kitchen, living room, and the many remaining rooms. A spiral staircase featuring curved glass graces the huge entry foyer. Keep an eye for NJ Home’s upcoming editorial describing both architecture and design efforts in detail.
